Gestalt Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on experience at the present moment and personal responsibility. Founded by Frederick and Laura Perls in the 1940s, this experiential therapy concentrates more on what is happening rather than what is being discussed. The goal is for the client to become aware of what they are doing, how they are doing it and how they can change themselves while learning to accept and value themselves.
